My dad was the first to notice them when they came out. He pointed, and mum hoisted Ella up onto her shoulders to wave.
"Hey mum," I asked, "how come their last name is Parker? Wouldn't it be Boyd?"
"Well, your aunt Maggie wanted to keep her maiden name, and my brother wanted there to be one family name, even if it wasn't his, so he changed his last name to Parker."
I caught sight of Vanessa before she saw us. She had sleek, straight shoulder length blond hair, and blue eyes. She wore a T-shirt with a big old American flag on it.
